Yahoo Groups - cannot delete files?
I am 100% confident that I am following the right steps to delete a file on Yahoo Groups (note the I am the group owner for the group in question). However, I am not able to successfully delete files. Following are the steps that I'm using to TRY to delete files: Click MORE, FILES, then hover the mouse over the file in question and click on the Garbage Can (delete) icon. The file will temporarily disappear from the list, however when the list is refreshed - the file that I attempted to delete is still there. This has happened multiple times with multiple browsers, but have not been successful. I really need to delete some files, because proper maintenance makes the site easier to use for my group members. Please tell me what steps I need to take in order to perform basic file maintenance for my site. Thank you for your time, Marty. P.S. Although I am quite upset about this ongoing issue, please note that I did not use inappropriate language or use derogatory comments.

My group uses files with specific file names, and I cannot delete those existing files and upload the new ones. I don't use the online edit function for files because I don't like that it ends all text lines with a line feed, instead of carriage return + line feed.
What I have done is to use the online edit function to change the name of those files to one that starts with "ZZ-", in order to get those files to the bottom of the list. In the description box, I change the text to something like "Do not use" (or "Contents deleted" if it's small enough for the online edit function to delete the contents of the file).
Then I can upload the new files using their correct names.
When they fix the problem I'll delete the old files.
Another option might be to upload the new files with that day's date in the file name, so users can see which file is the latest.

I am having huge problems with Yahoo Groups. I uploaded some files to a group, nothing, uploaded again, again nothing, uploaded a third time, nothing again. An hour later there were 3 lots of the files in the folder. Tried deleting them and they come back when going back into the folder. Tried deleting the folder which doesn't work. Tried moving them to another folder and they come back to the original folder. Tried creating a new folder and adding a file to create it but get an error message failed to upload. WTF IS GOING ON YAHOO!!!!! Yahoo Groups used to work perfectly before the new revamp. Ever since there has been one issue or another and now this!!!!

I was having the same issue and I was able to successfully delete a file by clicking the "cut" icon (the scissors). For some reason that worked when the trash can didn't.

I am having the same problem ... a workaround I am using is to create a folder called TRASH ( or anything you like ) and cut/paste files from where they are into that folder. Then, when this problem is fixed, I will delete the entire folder, confident that the files I would have deleted during normal maintenance are gone.

We are having the same problem exactly...as it seems are many others. Why is Yahoo
not attending to this. People also need to delete files to get space back. Or, the files
are no longer relevant. It appears to me that according to what you wrote above, you are doing exactly the right thing. Yahoo, where are you? Lots of people having the same type
of problem. Why don't you step in?

I have this same problem too.
I've seen it suggested that editing the file name to include non-ANSI codes will prevent the download of incorrect or embarrassing files. I've tried this with a ç and an apostrophe - it doesn't work; the file still downloads with, for example, <'> in the file name instead of an apostrophe.

Same problem here. I can't delete database entries, photos or remove members who have not been able to unsubscribe on their own. This is a HUGE problem. I hope it gets fixed soon. This is worse than all the other negative things we have had to suffer through with Neo.

I also have the same problem. Plus, if I rename the updated file to a different file name, it uploads but is corrupt when I try and open the file (both .xls and .pdf format).
There is something seriously wrong with the filing function.

I have the same issue. I can not delete files from our group which can be potentially misleading. Hope there is a resolution soon.
