Why are many christians against the Westboro baptist church?

Cause they are Scared of what is really in the bible. The stuff WBC preaches actually is in the bible and that unnerves them.

Westboro Baptist Church is a misrepresentation of what Christians are. The media like to use them make everyone feel that that's the way all Christians are. I'll make my answer as short and simple as I can: WBC's approach to the masses is to preach repentance. However, they do it in an unloving way. Jesus said to love your neighbor. Let me give you an example with three approaches: there's a blind man in his home and his home is on fire. you as a neighbor try to get him out of there. 1st app: Hey id***, are you gonna get out of here or do you want to die? 2nd app: Hey umm, neighbor, do you wanna come outside? 3rd app: Hey neighbor, your house is on fire, are you here by yourself? I called for emergency already. Do you need help evacuating your home?

WBC would the example of the first approach.

WBC goes on to preach the wrong message, at the wrong people, at the wrong time.

There's also the other extreme of "Christianity" where the people are real careful with the words they say because they don't want to hurt anyone's feelings so they only want to preach love without warning people about sin. That's the 2nd approach.

A true Christian should warn people about sin and preach repentance, with the good news of Christ. That people could turn from sin and their sin will be forgiven when they accept Christ.

So this is the Christian formula: Repentance + Love= the complete message of the Bible.

and to clear something up: God does not hate homosexual humans. He doesn't like the fact that you are going against the way God created you and it's hard to go from going homosexual to heterosexual, but anything is possible through the grace of God. This applies to any sin. If a teenager is tempted to steal a candy, it's a high probability he will. And as long as he doesn't get caught, he will keep doing the same. But when you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, all your sins are forgiven. This doesn't mean that you have the right to abuse that fact. And when someone does abuse it, it's called being a hypocrite. However, if you are willing to change, God will deliver.

They base their hatred on the old testement. The old testament comes from the Jewish Torah, where hell doesn't even exist. If they are so right why do you not see one single Orthodox Jew picketing with them? Possibly because they don't understand the history or the meaning of the text they use. I think that's because they spout hatred because they hate, they can use anything they want to back it up.

The only difference between them and al queda is they haven't killed anyone.....yet.

They don't like what they stand for, so they appreciate the WBC for being willing to have Christians' self-disgust projected upon them.

Because WBC trolls Christians and trolls them successfully

They omit the part that God offers grace to every sinner. They are focused on the law, which bounds us, instead of focusing on what was done on the cross to offer grace, which sets a sinner free. They haven't known the love of God.

The WBC have perverted Christianity and misinterpreted scripture.

We live in a society that acknowledges the right to free speech. There are times for things to be said and heard. When anyone would stoop so low as to further inflict pain on anyone already suffering it clearly exemplifies the lowest of low.

it is true but we must also bring the message of salvation to the homosexuals, that if they repent and return unto the Lord God, He will abundantly pardon, if they confess to the error of their ways. the westboro baptist church is just applying stronger words than we do. and those christians which condone same sex marriages are not christians at all as they also mock Christ suffering on calvary for us to repent and return unto the Lord God.

Why don't you try actually reading that Bible once in a while.
