Using two surnames, benefits and legal issues?

I want to use two surnames one for legal reason and one for public stuff like Facebook, Would this give me benefits in terms of private and safety? I feel knowing someone legal name make it easily to commit fraud against them for one reason. Are there any legal issues doing this: I live in the UK.

you can use whatever name you like on facebook, it has no legal bearing. If someone was stalking you and trying to build a picture up about your life, using a different name on facebook would make their task more difficult.
