Why doesn't anyone pronounce Bret Favre's name correctly?
" faV -Re" obviously, as you can see, is spelled with the "V" first and the "R" following. But no one pronounces it this way not even Favre. It is also easy to see it is a French name yet NO ONE seems to be able to pronounce it the way it would be spoken in French "Fav -Re".
@BADASS: because I happen to know how it is pronounced and you obviously don't.
If you can't answer the question , then don't bother writing anything else here. either.

You have to go to Hanckock County, MS, or the nearby area, to understand. There are piles of Favres, and they do pronounce it "farve." It's hard to figure the local pronunciation for half the streets in nearby Gulfport and Pass Christian, too.
