Why would anybody in their right mind feel a need to defend the republican or democrat party?

Update:

Jim, I would defend a party or individual that is not corrupt. One that has the best interest of the country at heart.

Update 2:

Its about time American's have much better representation to choose from.

    Defending the awful track record of either party would be impossible. That is the embodiment of an uphill battle.
