There have been many apologetics written about the validity and inerrancy of the Bible, which you could easily research for yourself.
One COULD say that the Bible says it is inspired and inerrant and that this is true because it is found in the Bible, but that is circular logic.
What is NOT circular is when claims are made that are verifiable outside the document. This is possible because the Bible makes historical and geographical statements that are verifiable independently. Inerrancy follows from what the Bible has to say about its inspiration.

The holy book is the claim. You would need evidence of the claim to make a hypothesis, and still more data and facts to confirm or deny the hypothesis. Thus far we have only heard the claim... for 2000 years or so.

People tell me that "The God Delusion" is true because Dawkins wrote it, and that he wrote it because it is true.

It's logic. Nothing creates it self with a cause. God gave you the brain think and signs to see. The books are part of proof of God but not only proof there.
