A question for Young Earth Creationists?
If you are NOT a young earth creationist, please do not respond. If you are simply going to bash religion or hurl insults, please do not respond.
I have several questions, and I am genuinely interested in the answers of those that hold this belief. I do NOT hold with the Young Earth theory, but I would like to understand why it is important to those that do. Thank you in advance for your answers.
Why is it important to Young Earth Creationists that the earth be approx. 10,000 years old?
Does the age of the Earth affect your belief in God?
Would your faith and/or beliefs change if the Earth were 4.5 billion years old?
Why must the Genesis creation days be interpreted as literal, 24 hour periods when 2 Peter 3:8 says: "... with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day."
Is it necessary for God to make known to us the method of His creation? Does it make it any more or less valid?
