I Constantly Stress Out About School?
Whenever I have something to do with school that's important, i get this weight in my chest and it stresses me out and makes me feel helpless. I procrastinate a lot in order to get away from the stress (I always finish and get great grades) but it just seems like I'm never going to get my degree. Everything school related (registering for classes, dropping, having to make an appointment with a counselor - not homework assignments) just makes me feel helpless and scared.
What do i do? School is like the only thing I have going on in my life right now. I want to be able to escape from the constant stress and the do or die feeling. That's what it feels like, everything is do or die.

Was it like that in elementary, middle school, high school? Is it college stuff and the idea of falling behind? Being in college can be challenging and the best I could do was to hang in there day by day. Procrastination can be a big headache on a headache. One is enough, thank you very much, right? Sometimes, I lie to myself and tell myself the assignment is due tomorrow. I get the feeling in me, build it, and then start working as if on a deadline. It's funny how the mind kicks into gear when you convince it. My best work was done in less time, a week in advance, all because I got started on it as if it were the last day. And, of course, I then felt pretty good after seeing the final product one time. If you feel like that falls short of working for you, consider taking an elective 'fun' class. Maybe, music 101. Or, women's studies (even if you're a man) Just do something just for the enjoyment of you and your curiosity. This constant stress may be pointing you in the direction that you need. Just go with it and breathe. Good luck CommonSense.

In order to attain success in life, stress is often called for. But just hang on, after all, school is only a couple of years of your life. Learn to deal with it and you will be glad for the skill acquired to serve you when you go into the world of work etc. believe me, the stress levels are even higher..

Find a distraction. It varys for everyone. Some people need a boyfriend/girlfriend others need ice-cream.
