  • I need inspiration for learning?

I feel as though I am at a plateau with my education. I want to be a genius which I know isn't possible but I would at least settle for being very intelligent. However, I feel as though my motivation and inspiration for learning has fizzled out. Even when I learn things, I don't retain them even though I enjoy them. I am not breaking through the glass ceiling so to speak.

I am not sure if this is because I am at my mental capacity or if it's because summer is right around the corner and I'm burned out or if its because I need something new and challenging... but I can't seem to overcome this dread of not wanting to do anything but wanting to do something to become more intelligent. I will never follow through with finishing books or even stick to something for more than a day because I forget. I think I may possibly have ADHD but I don't want to take drugs if I dont need to.

Can someone give me advice on what I can do to rekindle my love of learning?

  • I need help forming an argument against Indiana's new law?

I got into a debate about why the bill should be struck down and when I actually got into the argument, I knew what people were saying was wrong but I couldn't formulate exactly why. So I need help kind of making a sound argument.

Main argument for the law: It's a business owners right to do business with whom they choose. If its against their religion to serve customers they shouldn't be forced to. Gay people should just go somewhere else to do business. Business owner's have the right to refuse service.

Main analogy for the law: It's like a business owner who makes stickers refusing to serve someone who asks them to draw a the prophet mohammed, the business owner shouldn't be forced to do it.

My argument against the law: The law is the same thing as segregation. You can't do business here but you can do it else where? That's familiar with you can't go to school here but you can go somewhere else. Furthermore, serving gay people isn't a sin in any religion, it's typically sodomy. That would be the same as refusing service to overweight people because gluttony is a sin, or refusing to serve veterans because you're a pacifist. This law also significantly impacts the life of gay people because Indiana is so rural that if you were refused service in a small town with 1 pharmacy, then you would have to drive to another town and hope that they will serve you.

Main argument against the analogy: That's not discrimination based on the the definition of discrimination.

  • Should I give up and change my major?

I'm majoring in anthropology. It's not the most employable field, but it is a diverse degree that can land you jobs in places like business.

I absolutely love this field, I feel that it's a passion. However, I will have to invest a lot of time and money into it for little monetary payoff.

I have about 2 years before completing my degree. Should I change majors to something more employable like business? Or should I just finish my degree and go on to a masters program?

I'm having a lot of difficulty deciding. If I didn't love anthropology so much I wouldn't be torn at all.

Note: I've already done a lot of extracurricular activities, internships, and volunteer work in anthropology, which is reflected in my CV. So it's not like I'm just scraping by and doing the bare minimum to get an "easy degree"

    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

  • Recommend me a laptop?

I need a new laptop for university, so it would preferably have windows office and basic computer functionality. I'd like to be able to play some games on it (mmos) but that's not an absolute necessity.

  • How can I upgrade this Desktop?

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...

It's old and icky I know but I don't want to pay for a new computer. Is there any way I can upgrade it for relatively cheap (less than $100)?

    The power supply and graphics card are horrible, and the graphics card is integrated. D;

  • Ordered a product on Amazon?

Please bear with this. The short version is that I didn't get a book, i opened a claim and got an amazon gift card, i received my book 2 months after I ordered it and now the seller wants me to withdraw my claim which will recharge me the amount I paid.

    Long version:

I ordered a book on amazon and the description said it would ship within 10 days (which I assume means arrive within 10 days because actual shipments occur 1-2 days after the order was placed). After I ordered it, the estimated date of arrival was set to a month later. I was mad but I already ordered it so I remained patient. Well the book didn't arrive by the date and I opened a claim, and after exchanged several emails with the seller, he sent out another copy. I had received a gift card from amazon to refund my purchase, but I had gotten the book. Now the seller wants me to withdraw the claim. However, I feel entitled to a refund of my money because the seller took two months to get me my book. It also says on amazon that if I don't get my product two days after the estimated delivery date that I can open a claim.

What should i do? I've never had this problem and I'm really upset.

  • If you pay back a subsidized loan are there any fees?

If you're offered $5000 in subsidized loans, and you repay $5000 when you're done with school before 6 months, would you be paying additional money? (More than you took out)?

Context: Im being offered loans and I'm debating on whether it's a good idea to take out the subsidized loans just incase and then repay them in full once I'm done with school. But I don't want to pay back more than I took out.

  • Naruto question Izanami/Izanagi?

If izanagi was invented because people kept using izanami to get the outcome they desired, then isn't that a plot hole? Izanami can only be used once (twice max, but I think you can only use one eye for it), so what would be the point of izanagi if they couldn't actually keep altering reality to get the desired outcome? Also, izanagi can only be used once, so to every person losing their eye to izanami you'd have another person losing their eye to izanagi.

I don't think kishimoto really thought this through...

  • Is this just anxiety?

For about a year or so I've noticed that I started getting more prone to anxiousness and nervousness. It didn't hit me until recently how badly it's been getting, when I started a public speaking class. I realize that many people get anxiety talking infront of people, I didn't used to be horrible at it until about a year ago, and since then I started shaking uncontrollably and starter and freeze and just feel like my body is being pierced by daggers. Now I have an internship and I'm making a bunch of mistakes, and each time I make one or ask a question I feel like I'm going to be told that I'm not good enough and that I'm going to get fired. I can't deal with it, I wasn't nearly this bad over a year ago and I don't understand what happened and what I can do to fix it.

I don't really exercise and my diet is very bad (I've barely been eating and only been getting about 6-7 hours of sleep), but I'm not sure how much that will really help me because I feel like there's so much more to this.

Maybe it is the diet and sleep. I don't know. I really need help, I feel like I'm at the brink of a breakdown.

  • Why don't I do the things I like?

I like drawing and sculpting, but I never seem to do them, which upsets me because I feel like I have talent for sculpture but I never practice so I don't get better. It makes me feel like I'm arrogant. Instead of going and sculpting I just sit at my computer and watch tv and videos on youtube.

Can anyone relate and/or share some advice with me?

  • I've given up a dream, have you?

When I was a teenager I started to draw one day out of the blue. I wasn't exceptionally talented or anything, but it did give me something that I never had in my life before, recognition. I stuck with it but dropped it for months at a time because I found drawing to be aggravating and not as fun as I forced myself to believe. However, I did have an artwork in a popular museum exhibit. Whenever I see someone with amazing drawing skills, I wish that I had stuck to drawing long enough to become just as good, if not better, but then I remember how much I didn't like it. Still the possibility of it nags at me.

Does anyone have a similar story or experience that relates? Maybe it will put some things into perspective!

  • I Constantly Stress Out About School?

Whenever I have something to do with school that's important, i get this weight in my chest and it stresses me out and makes me feel helpless. I procrastinate a lot in order to get away from the stress (I always finish and get great grades) but it just seems like I'm never going to get my degree. Everything school related (registering for classes, dropping, having to make an appointment with a counselor - not homework assignments) just makes me feel helpless and scared.

What do i do? School is like the only thing I have going on in my life right now. I want to be able to escape from the constant stress and the do or die feeling. That's what it feels like, everything is do or die.
