Are these good laptops?

Yup there both good but it's always good to go into the google and google each laptop and look at he reviews from places like best buy and amazon or newegg. That could tell you if the computer may have any major issues.

The processors aren't the best but unless your playing a graphics heavy game such as battlefield 4 on high settings you should still run fine. But if your playing something like minecraft you'll be ok to go on high settings. You should also consider googling some of he parts in the computer such as your graphics card and your processor individually to make sure those are fine too.

I would also go with the second one as he price seems like a steal but still make sure that's a similar price in other places so that your not getting ripped of since it could have a factor defect on it. After that your good to go.

They both have large 17 in screens and they will be fine for school, but they won't be much for gaming.\
