Naruto question Izanami/Izanagi?
If izanagi was invented because people kept using izanami to get the outcome they desired, then isn't that a plot hole? Izanami can only be used once (twice max, but I think you can only use one eye for it), so what would be the point of izanagi if they couldn't actually keep altering reality to get the desired outcome? Also, izanagi can only be used once, so to every person losing their eye to izanami you'd have another person losing their eye to izanagi.
I don't think kishimoto really thought this through...

First you got it mixed up. Izanagi alters reality and Izanami was created to stop the arrogant users of the izanagi. Izanami puts who ever is caught in the genjutsu in an infinite loop until the victim sees the error of their ways and accepts reality not an altered one. The Uchiha believed losing their eyesight for that cause is a worthy sacrifice. I believe Kishimoto thought it through.
