I need inspiration for learning?

I feel as though I am at a plateau with my education. I want to be a genius which I know isn't possible but I would at least settle for being very intelligent. However, I feel as though my motivation and inspiration for learning has fizzled out. Even when I learn things, I don't retain them even though I enjoy them. I am not breaking through the glass ceiling so to speak.

I am not sure if this is because I am at my mental capacity or if it's because summer is right around the corner and I'm burned out or if its because I need something new and challenging... but I can't seem to overcome this dread of not wanting to do anything but wanting to do something to become more intelligent. I will never follow through with finishing books or even stick to something for more than a day because I forget. I think I may possibly have ADHD but I don't want to take drugs if I dont need to.

Can someone give me advice on what I can do to rekindle my love of learning?

First, its kind of hard to rekindle any motivation at the end of the school year. I recommend you try to find motivation before the beginning of the next school year.

Now as for finding motivation, just know you are not the only student who struggles to find motivation. So, don't beat yourself up. If you want to be very intelligent, do intelligent things over the summer, so you can start out the next year fresh and ready to take on academic challenges. I recommend you read or listen to ted talks to educate yourself instead of watching videos on Youtube of people falling.

Lastly have confidence, I was diagnosed with ADHD and I was supposed to be the dumb hyperactive kid jumping of the walls. I'd say I'm pretty smart in school. I also have an ambition to be very intelligent because I've been told that couldn't be intelligent. So go out there and educate yourself. Try Khan Academy if you need to sharpen up some skills over the summer.

Remember, the brain is a muscle. You can strengthen it.
