I've been living with my boyfriend for a few months now & recently I've had the problem with him not wanting to help me clean up the house. This is how it is: I go to school all week while he is at home all week long doing nothing but playing video games & watching TV. I'll ask him to clean up sometimes on Fridays before I get home & he'll either make up some excuse like, "I won't have time," or he just won't do it & claim that he forgot. For example, this morning before I left, I asked him if he wouldn't mind doing a load of laundry & straightening up the bedroom. He said he would have time to do a load of clothes, but he may not have time to clean our bedroom. It upsets me that he thinks he can just make a mess but not help clean up. He's not five years old anymore: cleaning is a responsibility that comes along with having your own house. I don't work, but I go to school all week & when I come home, I still clean or cook for us. Most of the time he doesn't help. I'm tired of being the only one who cleans while he just gets to sit back & enjoy his weekend to his heart's content. I want to say something to him, but he gets me so upset sometimes that when I do have the courage to say something, I feel like a b*tch & I just don't want to put it in a b*tchy way.
