What's wrong with my singing voice?
I know I'm a pretty indecent singer but I want to get better for hobby purposes (no way can i do this professionally)
Unfortunately, I don't really know what the root of the problem:
- is it my tone, inability to hit notes, improper technique, or am I just incapable of singing?
- Do I even have potential?
- Can i get better?
I'm currently enrolled in choir and I don't know if I should stay for the entire year if the root of the problem is that I'm incapable of singing.
Thank you for your time and patience!
BTW please don't look at my facial expressions as I sing just flip to another tab while I sing lol I look pretty weird in this video (and most of my other)

You were off key most of the song, i do see potential with your tone, it does sound kinda soulful. But you have to get the mechanics of pitch and staying on key, and holding the notes at the appropriate length instead of just chopping up the notes. I'm not saying you will be never a great singer, but that was not good at all, just work at it with a one on one teacher, should cost about 20 bucks for 30 minutes, go once a week, and progress as a singer

Well you can't ever be incapable of singing, you were not born with the talent, you develop it. And you need to work on the vocal range, and vocal accuracy so you could easily move from one note to the other and placing them correctly. And you can get better, but if you're still in the beginning and intermediate levels, I would not suggest hitting high notes (or it will harm your voice) until you could get the regular cords correctly, and you feel confident enough to do it. Best of luck !!!
