Question about infant crib safety issues?

My 7 month old baby girl just started pulling herself up in her crib. She holds the top and does a wobbly standing motion. The first time was a few days ago and she ended up bumping her face into the wooden rail.I haven't let her in there since. What can I do to the crib or get her to sleep in now? How do parents keep their babies from bumping their heads and face and safely sleep independently?

Babies who start pulling up, bump their heads. You can't prevent it. The only way they grow out of this is with practice, and the only way they get that practice is by allowing it to happen to them.

Your baby won't bump herself a concussion. Put her back in her crib. She may need comforting once in a while when she bumps her head, but that's the worst of it. This is not something you can shield her from. Just make sure to protect her from particularly SHARP corners that could do actual damage beyond the odd bump or bruise.

Seriously, if this one little bump has you rattled, you're in for a REALLY rough ride when she starts walking!

The only way you'll ever protect your child 100% is if you hold that baby on your lap and never leave the house !

It's a small bang, she's not going to really hurt herself and its a LEARNING curve for her!

I know its hard when your baby gets a little bump and they cry but they're tougher than you think

Just incase anyone recommends cot bumpers DO NOT get them! They are a SIDS risk

STOP, STOP, STOP! If she falls, in her crib, leave her be.....she will be ok!!!

Children, no matter what age, fall and get bumps.

When she's ready for bed - put her in her crib and leave her be.

I raised 3 children and each began sleeping in a crib, in his or her own room, at 3-months of age.

If one decided to try to stand up, fell and hit their face - he or she did not do it again. Plus, I NEVER went running into to save them from being a child.
