What do I call myself if I am between atheism and Christianity?

It feels kind of awkward being uncertain, but it's gone on for two years, and more quickly over the past week when I've had more time to myself. I swing between the two daily. It's so unsettling I just had the thought to look up pros and cons of the lifestyle of each to help me decide, and of course that is stupid - I want the one that's right, not the one that's more comfortable. I'm certainly interested in your rational arguments for and against each one, but right now I just want a label for myself. I don't know whether there is a god or whether he includes Jesus but I think I can know one way or the other eventually (so I'm not agnostic). What am I?

Thanks! =)

Confused..When asked to describe my thoughts on GOD and Religion my train of thought led me right to gravity. . .

You can’t see gravity, You can’t taste it, I just know one thing for certain, that it exists.

The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension

Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.

I feel bad that if someone does not have faith they would want others to agree with them!

How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation. The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.

We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.

The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, GOD unlike the universe, had no beginning, so he doesn’t need a cause. Einstein’s theory of general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since GOD is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created..@

Life without GOD is like an un- sharpened pencil it has no point..

You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him

That would make you an agnostic Christian. The term "agnostic" doesn't mean that the existence of God can *never* be known, just that we do not currently enough evidence either way to say definitely yes or no. You sort of believe in Christianity, but you're not sure, so I think the term is fine for you. Conversely, I don't believe in God but admit I could be wrong, therefore I'm an agnostic atheist.

    Dear Friend,

There is no such thing as straddling the fence with God. Either you are for God or against God. All, or nothing. God doesn't care about our finite opinions, just ...obedience.

The word Christian means, "Christ" and "ian" in the Greek means, "like." Christ-like. Therefore, anyone who professes to be a Christian, demonstrates who they are in Christ by their...lifestyle. Like Christ.

God desires a personal relationship with His creation, but we can only approach a Holy God on His terms, not ours.

    Tender blessings,

Ok some of you guys are being too hard. Look it is natural and understandable to question your faith. I do not think faith is mutured until it has gone through intense questioning. What is important is not throwing the baby out with the bath water. If you are really being sincere about your delimma then you need to talk to God about your doubts. Explain to Him how you feel and that you want to believe but you need help. There is nothing wrong with that and it will only increase your faith in the long run.

AGNOSTIC – Does not believe anything can be know about or proved about a god. Thus they can still believe a god exists. This description obviously fits a lot of Christians!

Agnostic is perfect. It literally means "without knowing" and it means simply that you have questions and you are not happy with the answers so far. You are going through a journey. I went through it three years ago and came out atheist. Secular Humanist, to be precise.

Don't let anyone push you. It can take years. Take the time.

    How can you be "in-between?"

Do you believe the claimed christian god and magic jesus? If so, you're a christian.

    If not, you're an atheist.

If you're not sure if you "believe," you don't -- so you're an atheist.

Atheism isn't a belief there's no god -- it's simply not believing claims there IS one.

Atheism is not a "lifestyle." It is a philosophical position regarding belief, in this case the lack of belief in god(s).
