What to see in Cambodia, or Bangkok?
We'll be there in early April (hot, I know). Never been to Cambodia, and have only been to Kho San Rd area in Bangkok.

For Cambodia, I would suggest to go to:
Siem Reap to visit Angkor Wat
Pnom Phen: spend some days in the capital and visit the killing fields and the genocide museum, but also some temple around the capital.
Sihanoukville, to enjoy a couple of days on the beach
Kampot (well know for the pepper)
Bokor Mountains (near Kampot) ..
Bangkok being a city, there are a lot of things to see and activity to keep you busy.
Go around Siam, and experience shopping in some very impressive malls such as Paragorn for instance, MBK ...On opposite of Paragorn, you have another area of Siam with lot of tiny shops where many Thai student go around..
Royal palace ..
Go for some boating on the Chaya River
Take a drink on top of the sciroco tower at night
Go to JJ (Chatuchak) market (week end...) or if you can't go on the week end, you can go to the Lumpini Night market during week days.
Go to see some Thai boxing at Lumpin Stadium
Experience some great food in Bangkok (it will not kill your budget ...) in the street but also in some fine dining restaurant ....(I put a link below....)
Hope it helps
