I have received a gift card and want to use it online. Do I need to register it and if so how?

If you want to have any chance that it might work online.... you need to register it. Go to the cards website or look at the back of the card for the instructions to the website. Once you have the right website you need to put that card in your name and enter your social security number and correct address. Use the address you want the merchandise shipped to.
Even after you have it registered the card will most likely still be rejected for online payments and it can not be linked to PayPal either.

It can indeed be set up to use on PayPal. But, as far as registering it, never heard of that and so I don't know the answer. There should be a phone number for customer service on the back of the card. As far as I know you use it like a credit card and simply enter the card number when you're checking out.
