How can I contact another YA user?

You can email another user by clicking their avatar and see if they allow email or I.M and email them through answers if it shows Email but if the link doesn't show they do not allow emails you can't email them.

Go to http://answers.yahoo.com/

Click small fork / wrench icon on right of your avatar

Scroll down to Answers Community

Can contact me via email..(Your address will remain private)

Can contact me via Yahoo Messenger ...(This will make your messenger and Yahoo Id visible to Answers community)

Check one or both and Save.

If the other user allows IM or email you can contact him or her offsite that way. Click on the other user's avatar to get to his or her profile page. Scroll down. See if IM or email is enabled. If so, communicate all you want.

You have to have IM or email enabled on your own profile page first, of course. Click on the Answers Home link at the top of the categories list at the left-hand side of the page to get to your profile page, then click on the little wrench icon at the top right of the colored section. Scroll down and check the right boxes to enable IM or email. Be sure to save your changes at the bottom of the page.

If you're still on the old green format, click on the MY ACTIVITY tab at the top of the page. Click on Privacy & Communication. Scroll down and make sure the right boxes are checked to allow email and/or IM.
