Paid leave for "failed" drug test?

My husband was given a random drug test at his plant job that was positive for marijuana(even though he hasn't smoked in almost 7 years!). The company fired him and all the other employees who tested positive. 8 days later called him and said the results got mixed up and his test was actually clean and he can start working again along with a few others who's test got mixed up. Alot of rumors are going around saying they are gonna be required to do a paid leave since it was there mistake. My Q, is the company required to do a paid leave or not?

No there is no such federal leave requirement. There MIGHT be a state law on the books and the employer should do it....but there is no overarching federal requirement and law mandating that. They could have not contacted him at all and just left him unemployed.
