What is this simple family tree page called?

There are printable forms where you can fill in just one families information. Father, mother, kids names, all their birthdates and places, death dates and places too. Each family unit would have one. What is this called so I can look up those simple forms? Thanks.

Pedigree charts or Family Group Sheets. They are called the same thing if you use a computer program and generate reports from it or if you use hand written charts. Either way the charts are the same.

If you want to try Legacy and Roots Magic have trial versions that can be downloaded and purchased if you choose to. They start at about $30 and the super deluxe versions run about $59.

    Family group sheet.

It is a standard format, used pre computer... which also links each individual IMMEDIATE family back to their parents, or down to the children/ marriages.

The alternate is the pedigree chart, showing the immediate ancestry of a single person. Does not include siblings/ cousins, etc.

Descendent charts are outline forms that include a person (couple) and their descendents coming down. These can be quite extensive.

Family group sheets are what I used for beginning.. filed in a 3 ring binder, alphabetically by the husband/father name.

    Family Group sheets, but . . .

Using paper these days is like using a yellow legal tablet and a #2 pencil to write a novel. If you are serious, spend the $29 it takes to buy a copy of Roots Magic (my choice) or Legacy (several other regulars' choice.) Any of them will print a FGS for any person at the push of a button.

And, when you discover great uncle Ralph was really born in Pennsylvania, but moved to Ohio when he was 2, you just change it, they way you'd substitute "further" for "farther" in the opening line of chapter 2 of your novel; much easier than erasing.
