My orthodontist said use one elastic and I'm using two?
What will happen to my teeth or gum? Originally I extracted four teeth so now I'm using rubber bands aka elastics. I was told to use two but I think it's too slow so I want to fasten the job. I decide to use an extra set only at night. Is there any danger to this especially cos I wasn't prescribed that amount?

Yes. There is a danger.
Moving teeth too quickly and with too much force can cause permanent damage to the roots of the teeth.
Your orthodontist went to school for many years and knows what s/he's doing. You are guessing about what will work.
You said "I wasn't prescribed that". So you need to stop doing it.

Do you think you are smarter than the orthodontist? If not, then why are you not listening to him?
Using 2 could put too much pressure on the roots of the tooth and permanently damage them. Permanently damaged roots DO NOT MOVE AT ALL--meaning that you will be stuck in your current tooth alignment.

You may start feeling pain initially you wont understand as you will get headache for using extra elastic. If you can tolerate the pain (mild) you can speed up your treatment but i suggest you to follow the guide lines of your dentist as he knows what is best for you.
