did i do the right thing by leaving him?
I broke it off with him after 8years because he hasnt given me a date. i really love this man but im frustrated, we are in our mid 20s, graduated college a few years ago, i am ready to get serious but he is not.
he is really upset that ive broken it off with him (so am i but i have no idea what else to do) and he says that i should just stay his gf and he will marry me eventually.
but i have been waiting for eventually for 8 years and im tired of waiting, what do u think i should do

"Eventually" is not a fair ballpark to give a girlfriend of eight years. If he's not ready to get married right now, that's totally his decision and it deserves to be respected. But not knowing whether he'll commit in one year or in 10 is just not fair, you can't be expected to just wait around forever.
This is a difficult topic because on one hand, pushing him before he's ready could ruin an otherwise great relationship. At the same time, he can't expect you to just blow it off for an unknown period of time.

I think you did the right thing, He may indeed love you like he says but this will be the proof, no man will give up the women he loves he will think about this so thoroughly. Give him time to think that's the key. But don't give him all the things that come with being your girlfriend, until you get your date
