How do I create a free ebook?

I have it written in Microsoft word. Where do I go from here? I want to make a downloadable ebook. I dont want to spend money, nor sell it.

As the others say, you can make a PDF fairly easily. But a real eBook is in ePub format, which you can make with either Sigil or Calibre (both free programs). ePub format is supported by all eBook readers except Kindle (because Amazon want to make you pay for everything)., but you can make an eBook for Kindle format with Calibre by converting from ePub.

ePub is a popular format, too - loads of publishers sell books in that format, and then there's Project Gutenberg which has 38,000 free eBook, mostly in several formats including ePub.

Source(s): I have a Kobo, and have made ePubs for it. I use Sigil because I think it is a little easier to use than Calibre.

Use OpenOffice, the free open-source alternative to MSWord. Open your publication in OOo and SaveAs PDF. Otherwise, there is some kind of add-on for Word. I don't know if that add-on is free or not.
