Is it illegal to use someone else's address & name on ebay?

Let's say a customer gave a seller some bad feedback and the seller wants to get back at him and send him a joke package. Would that be illegal?

If you are just going to send them an empty box - you're throwing away profit!

If you're going to send them some dumb mystery item through the post - expect a long chat with a policeman about being exceptionally naughty at Christmas (something really inappropriate, that you find funny, might get you on a charge for harassment - also, ebay may not look too kindly on you abusing customer trust - you have their address after all).

Illegal? Not to the point the police would get involved. It would show a huge degree of immaturity on part of seller. The buyer is likely to figure it out since the postmark would show what part of the country it had been mailed from.

It would be colossally stupid and possibly a federal crime, depending on what YOU send through the U.S. mail.

eBay loves to ban bad sellers like you. When the buyer complains, eBay will link the two accounts and ban both of them.

If a single neg sends you over the edge, you are not emotionally stable enough to sell on eBay. Get off the site before you turn into an axe murderer.
