In the spirit of Vatican 2, Roman Catholics have been in focused on their ties with eastern Orthodoxy?
However, the more one studies Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy (in depth) it becomes quite clear that many differences exist. The Orthodox generally see this immediately while the RCC tend to pretend it does not exist. By the RCC ignoring the points of disagreement with Orthodoxy do you believe they are ignoring core Roman Catholic teachings?
Foe example: Claiming the Bishop of Rome has a primacy of "honor" is essentially a nice way of saying he has no primacy at all. This pretty much destroys the place of the Pope which is a core Catholic doctrine. Your opinions?

Your example misses some key history. In the Roman Empire, the Pope of Rome *did have primacy of honor, was the "first among equals" of the Christian patriarchs of the Eastern Roman empire, Rome being alone in the west. The churches of the east looked to Rome for guidance and as a place to appeal for help solving disputes, but Rome *never* had the right to interfere in the internal affairs of the other churches without their invitation. Rome also did not appoint bishops in the churches in the east, as they were not under the rule of the bishop of Rome. Once Rome departed from among them, this role fell to the church of Constantinople, who was ranked second among the bishops of the Pentarchy (Rome, Cont'ple, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem). There *was a ranking system, but no "uberbishop" as Rome came to be in its own territory.
There are a great many serious differences, and while we do pray for unity to be restored, unity will not be at the expense of truth.
Forgive me.

There are very many similiarities of these two churches! The Rosary given to St. Dominic was also given to St. Pachomius in the 8th century to the Eastern Orthodox church. Google: Rule of the Mother of God, or Rule of the Theotokos. Also, very many Russian Orthodox saints such St. Dimitri of Rostov and St. Tikhon loved the Catholic church they prayed the stations of the cross and the Western Rosary. Also, there seems to be 2 types of Orthodox: some are strictly into the Jesus prayer and really oppose unity with Catholic church. This could be sin of pride. Also, there are many Orthodox falling away and becoming Jehovahs witness. The second type of Orthodox, do respect the Pope and his supremecy read about the beloved Orthodox Patriarch Athenagoras he laboured greatly for the unity of these two churches. He was a good and humble man and loved the Pope. I'm a greek Orthodox and greatly respect the Pope. I pray regulary for the unity of these 2 churches and I feel very sorry for the Orthodox who reject this. Maybe they should visit the Jehovah witness's (no offense to JW's) temple and find out how many ex-Orthodox are there and those who rejected Our Lady.

I would say it is the other way around. Catholics constantly show there sources from Councils that Orthodox accept and the Orthodox let it go in one ear and out the other.
