Salmonella poisoning and ham?

So a few weeks ago some juices from a turkey we were cooking spilled into our fridge and some went onto a ham. Today we are cooking the ham and I was wondering if any of the juices got to the ham could we get salmonella poisoning even if it was cooked well?

    nope.

Cooking ANYTHING contaminated with salmonella will kill said salmonella as long as the temperature of the meat was t 165 degrees.

What happened to you is exactly why a couple of important rules are in place in foodservice establishments.

    1. NEVER EVER thaw any raw meat product on any other shelf in the fridge except the bottom one.

    2. ALWAYS place a pan beneath the raw meat being thawed.

    3. NEVER EVER store raw meat or raw eggs above any other foods; these must be placed on the bottom shelf at all times.

No. If you cook it above 160%, it'll be fine. You get salmonella by eating raw/partly raw foods. That's why they have the steak warning at the bottom of the menu.

No ... heat kills the bacteria.
