Does Children's Bureau get involved in child murder?

I know that most cops use children's bureau when they are investigating crimes involving child abuse or sexual assault, and usually use them when they are trying to get information from a child, but are they used during a child murderer case, or is that strictly Homicide/FBI?

It would depend on the circumstances. If the child died as a result of suspected abuse or neglect, they would probably be involved. Or if other children were found to be endangered as a result of the crime or the circumstances leading up to the crime. If the child was clearly murdered by a non-family member and no other kids were involved, they probably would not have any reason to be called.

In the case of a child accused of murder CPS will be involved to a certain extent however the crime and perp will be investigated and treated just as any adult would be.

The cops will consult with the child welfare agency of course, but murder is murder and no mistake.
