The words of Solomon in the 2nd Proverb details both how God's Word can guide us, and results of that guidance.

    (Proverbs 2:1-22)

2 My son, if you will receive my sayings and treasure up my own commandments with yourself, 2 so as to pay attention to wisdom with your ear, that you may incline your heart to discernment; 3 if, moreover, you call out for understanding itself and you give forth your voice for discernment itself, 4 if you keep seeking for it as for silver, and as for hid treasures you keep searching for it, 5 in that case you will understand the fear of Jehovah, and you will find the very knowledge of God.

6 For Jehovah himself gives wisdom; out of his mouth there are knowledge and discernment.

7 And for the upright ones he will treasure up practical wisdom; for those walking in integrity he is a shield, 8 by observing the paths of judgment, and he will guard the very way of his loyal ones.

9 In that case you will understand righteousness and judgment and uprightness, the entire course of what is good.

10 When wisdom enters into your heart and knowledge itself becomes pleasant to your very soul, 11 thinking ability itself will keep guard over you, discernment itself will safeguard you, 12 to deliver you from the bad way, from the man speaking perverse things, 13 from those leaving the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, 14 from those who are rejoicing in doing bad, who are joyful in the perverse things of badness; 15 those whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their general course; 16 to deliver you from the strange woman, from the foreign woman who has made her own sayings smooth, 17 who is leaving the confidential friend of her youth and who has forgotten the very covenant of her God.

18 For down to death her house does sink and down to those impotent in death her tracks.

19 None of those having relations with her will come back, nor will they regain the paths of those living.

20 The purpose is that you may walk in the way of good people and that the paths of the righteous ones you may keep.

21 For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it.

22 As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it.

The Bible can guide us in how we can live a Holy life in an un-holy generation!

The result is a peace which is at home equally in bad times as well as good.

A more abundant life in the things life is truly about.

Ridicule and suffering at the hands and mouths of those who think they are too smart to be meek or humble.

A clear understanding of the Sermon on the Mount is a requirement! The best teachers I have found on the subject are those who call themselves drunks, druggies and former addicts of all kinds. Jesus warned the religious that "Drunks and prostitutes" would enter the kingdom before the religious. That saying is true to this day.

Truth be told....I am atheist but I live my life by six rules that can be directly related to the ten commandments ...

    1) I will not lie

    2) I will not cheat

    3) I will not steal

    4) I will not take advantage of anyone

    5) I will not sleep with another man

    6) I will not murder

Well, most Bibles have maps of the Middle East in them, so I guess you could use it to get around in the area.

It's a bit outdated though, so I wouldn't recommend using it for that.

The Bible is God's holy and inspired word. It is living and powerful and transforms lives. Through his Word, God reveals himself to us, and shows how sinful people can receive forgiveness and eternal life through putting their faith in Christ Jesus.

The Bible is as valid today as it was when it was first written. It instructs us in how we should live, in how to turn away from our sinful nature by trusting in Christ Jesus and acknowledging him as our Lord. Only if we belong to him can he then become our Saviour. What is the Bible:

    Basic

    Instructions

    Before

    Leaving

    Earth

The time to turn to God and to repent is now, while God calls to us. After we die, it's too late.

It will guide you first into fear and hatred. Followed by a dose of bigotry and intolerance.

You can follow that right into the brick wall, it is a dead end trip.

It can guide people to burning witches, persecuting homosexuals and blindly believing myths.

  • In every way one can imagine that is Good and Just and Righteous and Holy, For God is a rewarder to all those who seek him always now and forever.

We should murder recalcitrant children, which will land you in prison in some countries.
