what is a fairly cheap pet that is loyal to its owner and low maintenance?

I was thinking about getting a pet that is pretty loyal. By that I mean one that will recognize its owner and will let you carry it everywhere. I was thinking maybe a snake but then I saw that people had said that they are not capable of having emotions towards their owner. Is that true? If so, could you please suggest another pet that meets my criteria? I've been bored lately

You do not get a pet because you are bored. Pets need love, patience, care and money put aside for vet fees. No pets are low maintenance as they all need care and love. You are not ready for a pet. Find a hobby.

Any animal that is loyal, and tolerates constant carrying, will never be low maintenance. On the contrary, they will be the more expensive and needy animals... I agree, you have not done enough research to be getting any animal yet. They are not something you get because you are bored, or because you think it will be cool to carry around. Any animal is a lifetime responsibility.

Seriously...I don't think you should EVER own a pet, snake or otherwise.
