PayPal won't let me use up the balance on a Visa gift card?
I've been doing some Christmas shopping on Paypal recently, and using up some old Visa gift cards I've had as presents that I never used up. However, there's like $1.50 left on one of my cards, and when I try to use up that $1.50 on a purchase, it gives me this error:
This transaction couldn't be completed. Please redirect your customer to PayPal.
I tried making the purchase today on a different card that actually had enough balance on it to buy what I was buying and it worked. The thing is though, I still want to use up that other card instead of it just sitting around collecting dust. What can I do to fix this?

Do you still have the actual gift card? If you do, why don't you just use the $1.50 at the grocery store or at mcdonalds... It gets tricky trying to use up that little of a balance on an online purchase. Other than that, as the simple solution, I would suggest contacting PayPal customer service, they could likely help you out, I have called them before and they are very helpful, or you could shoot them a quick email asking your question. Here is the link for their customer services. https://www.paypal.com/gb/webapps/helpcenter/helph...
The only other thing that might help is to contact the provider of the gift card that you have. Ex: if it is visa, go to their customer service website that deals with the cards. I just googled "visa gift card customer service" and the link comes up, so whatever brand it is just google "___________ gift card customer service" and you should find it. Call or email them and they would likely assist you! Hope this helps, and here is the link for the visa gift card customer service --> http://usa.visa.com/personal/cards/benefits/bft_ca...

Paypal is slipping up. You were never supposed to use prepaid cards on Paypal at all.
