Do you see where someone might think these verses contain a contradiction?
24 Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. 25 This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

Apollos was a Jewish Christian who was “well versed in the Scriptures” and “aglow with the spirit.” The book of Acts relates about him: “He went speaking and teaching with correctness the things about Jesus, but being acquainted with only the baptism of John.” Without realizing it, Apollos had been teaching an out-of-date understanding of baptism. After hearing him teach in Ephesus, a Christian couple named Priscilla and Aquila explained “the way of God more correctly to him.” (Acts 18:24-26) How did this benefit Apollos?

After preaching in Ephesus, Apollos went to Achaia. “When he got there, he greatly helped those who had believed on account of God’s undeserved kindness; for with intensity he thoroughly proved the Jews to be wrong publicly, while he demonstrated by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.” (Acts 18:27, 28) By that time, Apollos could correctly explain the meaning of Christian baptism. With his increased understanding, he “greatly helped” new ones to make progress in true worship. What can we learn from this account? Like Apollos, we strive to understand what we read in the Bible. However, when an experienced fellow believer suggests how we can teach more effectively, we want to accept that help with humility and gratitude. If we do so, the quality of our sacred service will improve.

being acquainted with only the baptism of John.” Apollos’ being unaware of baptism “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit” likely meant that he had either been witnessed to by disciples of John the Baptizer or by Jesus’ followers prior to Pentecost 33 C.E. Though Apollos was zealous, there were some significant gaps in his knowledge. How did association with fellow believers help him?

Aquila and Priscilla heard Apollos speaking in the synagogue, took him into their company, and taught him further. (Acts 18:24-26.) This was the loving thing to do.

 Of course, Aquila and Priscilla would have approached Apollos in a tactful and helpful manner, not making him feel that he was being criticized. It was simply a matter of his not being aware of the history of the early Christian congregation.

 Apollos was no doubt grateful to his new companions for sharing these important details with him. Equipped with this information, Apollos “greatly helped” his brothers in Achaia and gave a powerful witness.

No, they do not seem contradictory to me. There are reasons for it: 1) Paul was "..an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures,.." yet God had given him no understanding, for "understanding" is a fruit of the Spirit of God. When He did, Paul had the "scales" from his eyes removed, and he "saw" the Truth, Yeshua, for Him is the center of all Torah, which had been all Paul knew till that day he met Yeshua.
2). Here is the 'kick' in the sentence: "...the way of God MORE accurately." These are pretty good reasons to believe the text and its candid explanations.

There are varieties of Bibles. Old & New Testaments. Where is the Old Testament? It is Hidden. Because, it is the Original, revealed from the Only One God Allah (Who Created you, me and whole universe) to Prophet Jesus (Peace be upon Him). The New Testaments were written by 40 persons, in different times with Contradictions, Vulgar Words, Changes and Inserted New Versions. How can a person believe it as it is from God?  
Why there is "NO" only one Bible, like only one Holy Quran?  
The Holy Quran was Revealed from God Allah [Who Created you, me and whole universe] to Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon Him) by VOICE, through Angel Gabriel, before 1400 years. Later it was written, Since then, there is no change in it's Arabic Origin. You can't find any contradictions or a single vulgar word in Holy Quran. 
- BIBLE SAYS TO KILL INNOCENT: (Deuteronomy 20:10-14): "10. When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. 11. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. 12. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. 13. When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies".

Chapter 3 Verse 3. It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).

After learning the Truth, the Christians, (not only the Christians), many are embracing Islam.  
Islam is easy, Holy Quran Chapter 2 Verse 185. ..."Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you"....  
To check just say "Ya Allah" always continuously, even on  bed, except in toilet. Look your life after a month, how it is improved. (This has been tested).
