This year my parents told me they spent over $1,500 each for me and my sister. Yes it's A LOT. Nearly $2,000-$3,000 a year. But my parents work a lot of overtime and save up for a big Christmas. It's really the only time of the year we get spoiled. So my parents don't really mind. I am very thankful though. I don't really expect that much, but it just happens.

What, that's just ridiculous. Even if I was well off I would Never spend that much on one child for Christmas gifts. I guess your parents must think that they have to buy yours and your siblings love.
I spend about $300-$400 on my daughter.
People like you three and your parents ruin christmas for everyone else. People like you are the reason why christmas has become more too commercialized. Christmas is supposed to be about celebrating the birth of jesus, about spending time with your family. Not about how much you can spend on your children or how many gifts you get.

Wow Laura sounds like your making rude comments as well. Just remember everyone has a right to their own opinion and when sean posted a question asking if it was too much and LOTR answered. Nothing wrong with that. I'd suggest you grow up and stop insulting others.
To answer your question, that does seem a little steep. As LOTR fan said christmas isn't about spending a lot of money on your children or about getting a bunch of gifts. But whatever floats their boat, I guess they just want to flaunt it.
You gonna diss me now too laura since I didn't agree??
Edit:
Bull Laura, you insulted her because you felt offended so you had to put her down to make yourself feel better. You're comment wasn't any better then hers and actually it was even worse since you stooped down to name calling and swearing.

Yeah probably just over 1k. I never thought about it but yeah between all the consoles and everything they get each year, probably 1-1.5k on each of us.
I guess I never thought of us as rich. My dad works in a nuclear power plant and I think makes like 200k a year which idk if it's a lot, but knowing that, spending like 4k on presents doesn't seem like much lol.
And lotr, just because you make less money than the asker and can't afford as much for your child, doesn't mean you have to be a condescending ***** and make rude comments. If you have so much money sitting in the bank, why should you be insulted for spending it on Christmas gifts..... Rude.
EDIT: I don't see how I'm being criticized for being rude when I was just standing up for the asker... Lotr is entitled to her opinion and can spend however much she wants on her children for Christmas. However, saying 'your parents must have to buy your love' just because they have more to spend is pretty horrible...
She could've said 'wow, that's a lot in my opinion but it's differnent for everyone'. Instead, she basically made it sound like the asker's parents were superficial idiots for spending so much... If you have more money, you're going to spend more money on things like Christmas presents. That doesn't make them superficial. That doesn't mean they're 'buying their childrens' love'.
