2004 Pontiac Sunfire. Airbag warning light is on. Fuse is OK. No damage to the vehicle.?
How do you trouble shoot this system without paying big bucks at the dealer who would replace everything and call it fixed and hand you a $1000 or more bill. I don't need advice about disarming the system. I know how to do that and the importance. Thanks

The only thing you can do without the necessary software to read B0** series codes generated by the SDM (Sensing Diagnostic Module) is to check the wiring under the seats for being disconnected by shoving something under the seat.
Also, check the front impact sensor,
Locate the sensor behind the front bumper in the middle of the vehicle and check for loose or poor connections to the sensor. If this sensor is the problem it will flag a B0036 code!
NOTE: Without the proper diagnostic equipment, it makes diagnosing SRS systems difficult.
