I found out with my first two, and my last. I don't find out with my third.
Pros - you can plan and buy clothing. I mean, who wants to stock up on all unisex clothing? You can get nursery furniture and other large equipment, being able to plan for the future. For example, you may like that gorgeous girly pattern on that car seat, or that masculine furniture. Also, some car seat brands ect will only offer a "boy" or "girl" colour, so it may not be possible to buy that particular seat if you don't know. You can also have more time to think of names, and family can also know what to buy for when they're looking around.
Cons - no surprise! Some mothers who want a certain sex may abuse the fact that you can find out the sex. If they see that they're having another boy, God forbid, they may not want to continue with the pregnancy...

I found out the sex of my daughter and I would do if I have another baby in the future.
The good thing about finding out the sex is that you can plan. I bought a few unisex babygros etc but I held off buying most things until we knew for sure what sex the baby was. Then of course everything we bought was pink! I think a lot of the unisex stuff is quite boyish - its mostly beige or yellow so if I hadn't found out the sex and just bought unisex stuff I'm sure I would have ended up replacing it all for my daughter! So it could have been a waste of money. Also, its nice being able to think of names etc. I think you can bond with the baby more when you can actually name him/her! And we kept the name secret so we still had a surprise for our families when she was born.
The down side it that without having unisex stuff, if you did have a second baby and it was a different sex you may need to re-buy a lot of the stuff rather than hand it down but then you may want to do that anyway. Theres no surprise but then having a baby is full of surprises anyway! I think the main con for me was the uncertainty to be honest. There is not 100% guarantee that the sex is correct and mistakes happen so I was worried right up until she was born that we may have a surprise after all and I had wasted so much money of pink and personalised stuff with her name!
