How much is it to buy a car from a dealership?

Honesty - For example, if a car is 17500 MSRP how much is it really? I've been looking into a used Dodge Dart or a Chevy Cruze for my first car.

What else do I need to pay for in order to drive off of the lot with it..

Taxes Tags, title some fees for admins and whatever your down payment is.

GO to Kelly Blue Book and get a price on the vehicle and use that as your guide www.kbb.com for negotiating. Dealer will be a bit higher than a private party sale - plus they make money on the financing so watch out - if they give you the car at a very good price you may not see a good interest rate (might want to lead with what can you qualify ($) and at want percent interest before negotiating the price of the vehicle.

The car is $17,500 or whatever you offer that the dealership is willing to accept. You'll also have to pay sales tax (if applicable) and ensuring that you have insurance.

Tax, title, license, registration and insurance. You are looking at a few grand there. Add to that if you are financing as well.
