Who delivered Jesus when he was born?

I mean, was it Joseph? I kind of doubt that he was qualified. How did most births happen during those times? You'd think whoever it was should've at least gotten an honorable mention in the bible. Was it a midwife or some stranger passing by?

Orthodox Christian icons of the nativity of Christ show midwives present, which was quite common. But the story was not about them, so there is no wonder they were not mentioned. The icons also show the wise men en route riding horses, not camels. The Bible doesn't say one way or the other, but the ancient traditions tell us these things.

Apparently back in the day, virgins were getting pregnant all the time.
