Is the Gospel of Thomas historically accurate?

Can anyone address this or point me in the right direction without dismissing it outright because it's not in the Bible or because it has the word 'gospel' in the title?

The gospel of Thomas is actually named just like all other gospels. This gospel is the gospel (good news) of Jesus as preached by Jesus ACCORDING to Thomas.

The gospel of Jesus according to the apostle Thomas is more reflective of the words actually spoken by Jesus than any other gospel found in the bible or not.

Of the 114 verses I say about 109 of them start off with the words "JESUS SAID". This the only gospel where almost 100 percent of it's written words are direct quotes spoken by Jesus himself.

From the book of Acts through the book of Jude there is not 1 verse that clearly says they are direct quotes spoken by Jesus, at best these books only insinuate that Jesus said some of tthe words, but all they do is insinuate. Thomas clearly states that Jesus himself said all the words therein.

Yes every word spoken by Jesus in the gospel according to Thomas is accurate and can be found in one of the other gospels included in the bible.

However, the gospel according to Thomas includes verses that only begin in other verse of gospels included in the bible, you must read Thomas to get a fuller understanding of them.

To get a complete understanding of the words spoken in the gospels included in the bible you must read

the gospel of Jesus according to the apostle Bartholomew.

Relying on memory, the Gospel of Thomas is essentially a collection of Jesus' quotations, some of which are arguably authentic.

It is not included in the Bible (the "canon of scripture") because parts of it are incorrect. The early church knew this; you'd likely have to do some study to figure out what parts are wrong. Sorry, I have no other pointers.

    Forgive me.

No, it is not authentic. It has never been authentically used within the church and was not authored by the person who it claims to be authored by.

    It is a forgery.

It is a disputed part of the 'jesus' story.
