Can I as an individual put a lien in a car I fixed?
Well I am NOT a certified mechanic nor do I have a business.
with that being said.
I have a car from a guy(A) who purchased the car and after 10 days from purchase the car broke down. the car was not registered by guy (A).
I repaired the car but I was not paid. the car is still under the person's name who sold the car to guy (A).
Can I put a lien on the car? I don't mind waiting a few more weeks for the whole thing to work.
btw guy(A) who I bought the car from left the country. if that helps.
thanks in advance

Every state is different i would call your local DMV and explain the issue

Yes, you can put a mechanics lien on the car. You don't have to be a real mechanic but you have to follow the rules of your state and they vary.
It would take several weeks at least before you got a title to where you could sell it.
Might be easier to ask the owner for his title or offer him a few bucks to sign it over to you.

Nope. You can, however, sue him for the work done, assuming you have the proper paperwork that proves you actually did the work.
