The date is "Sell by", not "consume by".

If it's a store-bought pie, there are probably enough preservatives in it that you could eat it next week.

Most people believe the sell by date is a hard and fast rule to abide by when actually it is just a date the FDA requires food makes to place on all food items....it should be looked at as more of a suggestion rather than a rule. The law actually only mandates that one particular food item cannot be sold past the date on the container...that item is baby formula. That's the only food item that cannot legally be sold past the date. This is why so many discount grocery stores are around...most big stores like Kroger will not sell items past the date just because most consumers are hesitant to buy the items. So, in other words, most food items can be safely consumed much later than the dates stamped on the containers. Of course, some items go out because of their nature,, milk, cream, etc. But items such as this pie, as long as it has been stored safely, usually in a freezer, can be consumed way past the date. I found a crazy deal on Mrs. Smith pumpkin pies one year and the last one was just eaten recently, about two years later than the date suggested. If it smells fine, looks fine, and has been stored safely, it should be fine to eat.

Eating food after the sell buy date is up to your judgement, but it also depends on the type of food you are eating. Meat for example should never be consumed after it's use by date, with an exception sometimes if it is frozen.

Just to keep in mind: A best before or sell by date is NOT an expiration date

I'm assuming you have kept the pie frozen/or chilled? If so, then it would likely be fine to eat, and even if it wasn't chilled, you will not likely be sick from eating it.

If kept in the fridge, it will last 2 - 4 days. But here's a chart for you to peruse...

I think a good amount of sugar in the pie makes it keep longer.

Those are just dates for the retailers - it is not an expiry date of the food. It is fine.

Those things will last ages if properly cared for in the fridge

I will assume you have been keeping it in the refrigerator since you brought it home. So, as long as it is not moldy, it should be fine.
