Using a jubilee clip to secure exhaust and pass an mot?

According to the UK MOT site it states:

Exhaust system – the exhaust system will be checked for potential noise, leaks and any missing catalysts.

I say it will pass but at the same time paint it black and drive it around some to blend the color in and burn off the smell.

Yes you can get this welded as well.

It also has to be secure, otherwise it's a hazard. Depends on whether the tester considers it to be secure.

What it looks like is irrelevant. If it does the job properly it will pass.

If secure it will pass, if not it will fail - no more to it
