How can I find if the motherboard i am going to buy is compatible with my processor?

I have a core i3 processor (only processor) and I need a motherboard. There is a motherboard (only motherboard, no processor) for sale. It says that it supports Core i3, core i5 and core i7. So does it mean that I can put my core i3 processor into this or do I still have to find my processor number ?

well there are three socket possibilities LGA 1150, 1155, 2011 the mother board should have printed on the board something to that effect around where the CPU socket is. on the CPU there should be a number like 4770k or something like that, do a search for that number and it will say what socket it is.
