The pill can be used for things other than just as contraception. It can be used to regulate periods, clear skn, assist in preventing or reducing some ailments involving the reproductive organs, reducing some migraines and headaches associated with the hormonal changes.
The pill isn't 100% effective and works best if you take it around the same time every day, and even then the chances of conception aren't 0, which is the same for every form of birth control.
What is your mothers reasoning to why she doesn't want you to go on it, and if there is just a specific type she is against?
There are also other things that are similar to the pill such as depo, an injection that lasts around 3 months, implanon is an implant that lasts around 3 years.
There is always plan B (the morning after pill) which you should be able to get over the counter at any pharmacy if something happens, a condom breaks, you haven't been taking your birth control regularly, or if you're just unsure.

Is your mom aware of your sexual history? If not, you need to tell her ASAP at a time when you both can be calm and discuss it rationally. Tell her she can either be a grandmother soon, or get you some reliable birth control. Condoms are not the most reliable method. It doesn't make any sense to think condoms are all right but the more reliable methods are somehow wrong.
If you are over 18 you don't need her permission to get birth control. If you are under 18 try Planned Parenthood. Good luck.

I'll bet she's even more against being a grandmother soon. Be smart. Use condoms. Everytime.
