Smells of vomit after cleaning toilet?

My dad cleaned the toilet and right after it smelled like vomit. No one in my house did vomit (that i know for sure of) my mom has been trying to get rid of the smell for 2 hours and nothing is working. What could this be? Could is be a mold on the toilet that possibly got disturbed while cleaning it? If so what do we do about it?

We had a bad smell from a toilet that didn't smell quite like vomit but didn't smell like sewer either but it was from a broken toilet seal. The plumber came in and changed the seal and the smell was gone.

What did your dad clean the toilet with? Maybe the cleaner smells bad or he mixed it with something else and produced a gas. Turn the fan on or open the window for a while.

Mold would smell like mold. Check the tank for a problem. Clean the toilet again with baking soda. Don't flush. Pour in some vinegar. It will foam up. Swab the toilet again as this will clean the brush, too. Then flush. The brush may be the source of the smell.

Flush the toilet and put some bleach down, this will eliminate any smell. You could also give it a quick spray with air freshener...............
