What's the religion that doesn't celebrate anything?

I have a friend who doesn't celebrate holidays like christmas and doesn't celebrate birthdays or the birth of a kid. I thought it was strange but I was curious to learn more about why. I was wondering what it's called so I can look up more about it. Thank you :)

True Christians would not celebrate any holiday because they are all created by man. None are scriptural. That would be the difference between a Christian and a true Christian. A true Christian would not stray from God's standards in spite of mass hysteria, or opinion. True Christians are looked down upon because they stand out as different. They are willing to undergo peer pressure in order to stand firm for what is right. If Christmas was something God wanted us to celebrate, it would be clearly spelled out in the scriptures. Most that celebrate Christmas understand that Christ was not born on the 25th, and know full well that Santa is made up as well. Yet they call this a Christian holiday. They claim since its in the name of Christ, and honoring him that it is alright. Jesus never celebrated his birth, nor did his disciples. But he did tell us to remember his death and tells us when, Nissan 14. The scriptures even tells us that the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth. Ecc 7:1 Christians would never engage in anything based in falsehood. Jehovah's witnesses are happy people and enjoy giving gifts, and love getting together with family, but not at the expense of falsehood. Take time to look up the origin of Christmas, and of the tree for yourself in your local library, or of course google it.

Muslims don't celebrate Christmas and birthdays are modern western influence. Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and other world religions don't celebrate Christmas but some of them celebrate the birth of their deities or gurus.

Jehovah's Witnesses celebrate the Memorial of Christ's Death on the day the coincides with the Jewish Nisan 14. It is the ONLY celebration Jesus commanded Christians to observe:

(Luke 22:19) Also, he took a loaf, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “This means my body which is to be given in YOUR behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”

It wasn't until AFTER the 4th century that people began celebrating other holidays. However, up until that time the christians celebrated the Memorial of Christ's death annually.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate christmas or other holidays. My grandmother was a Jehovah's Witness and she didn't celebrate anything.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate any civil holidays, and almost no Christian ones.

Most likely these are the JW's whose organization is the Watchtower.

Studying with them will open your eyes about many wrong dogmas in other churches; unfortunately, it will not open your eyes to the wrongs of that church.

    If you need help, ask.
