Looking at all the atheist kids who keep shooting and stabbing in schools?
do you think that if nothing else, religion acts as a social glue to keep most people within social contracts and expectations. If there is no moral right and wrong and everyone is free to go with what they think is good or bad, doesn't that just open the door for every wacko with a grudge who feels the need to carry out justice in their own mind.
Isn't one persons reasonableness another persons insanity. We can't just say throw moral law out and everyone just do what they think is right. That is why all these kids in this atheist generation are just wacking out. No moral guidance.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoAtheists, is Putin simply following Darwin's rules?
Survival of the fittest. Doesn't Russia have a right to gobble up as much resources and land as possible for the well being of its citizens to protect its survival and wellfare? Since there is no such thing as moral rights and wrongs, shouldn't all nations simply follow the rules of the jungle?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoSo lesbian marriages have a divorce rate twice as high?
as heterosexual marriages.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/les...
Why is it when it comes to marriage, health, money management, and every other basic thing in life do we not think that God kind of has a good idea of what He is talking about and advising for us?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy do atheists say the Bible contradicts historical record when?
Almost all major people, kings of other civilizations, towns and locations, war events, and other Bible details have been confirmed by modern archeology to have existed because the sites for these things were found or confirmed by primary sources.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoDoes this explain the difference between atheists and theists?
In high school, most of the popular kids like jocks and cheerleaders came from theists and were proud to be theists. Most of the nerdy unpopular kids who got picked on or the loner kid sitting around writing poetry all day were admitted atheists.
Does this explain the anger and grumpiness that one group seems to have on the internet over the other and why internet techie types who dominate message boards tend to be anti-theist?
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy don't atheists understand what the word indoctrination means?
You see over and over that anyone who is religious must have been indoctrinated as a child. Being taught is not the same as being indoctrinated or brainwashed.
Atheist parents - did you teach your children not to get in cars with strangers, or was this indoctrination? Did you teach your children not to stick forks in power outlets? Did you your children ABCs, eating healthy, how to be polite, how to properly behave in a restaurant? These are all values and you would be a bad parent if you simply left your kids to discover for themselves if getting in cars with strangers is a bad idea.
So please atheists get a good dictionary, put away words which make no sense, and stop the bigotry and stereotypes.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoBig Bang Question for Christians and Atheists?
With today's confirmation that the size of our entire present universe came about in under a billionth of a single second (as if some being simply said 'Let it be and it was so), why is the idea of life forming on Earth without taking millions and millions of years so outrageous to the secular world. The earth is just a blip compared to the universe.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoIn the internet age, how does an entire modern country like Russia get duped by their leaders?
I just don't understand with so many ways to get information online, how can so many people readily believe someone who controls all major media and squashes any opposing voices. Doesn't that pretty much tell you that whatever they are saying is BS? At lease during Nazi Germany, most everyday Germans had no idea what exactly was happening to the Jews getting taken away.
7 AnswersCurrent Events7 years agoAtheists, do you love all the great deals on fish sandwiches you get this time of the year?
I certainly do.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy did God say to REMEMBER the sabbath?
How could we forget. We have been doing a good job of keeping Sunday holy since Adam and Eve were told to do so, right?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWill gay pride parade organizers let me hold up my pro traditional marriage sign and be part of their parade?
Isn't that what tolerance and diversity is all about?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy isn't the Ukraine and Russia using science and logic to prevent war?
I thought religion was the cause of war. What's going on here?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoAre any of the following supported directly and explicitly by the Bible?
It seems easy with the Bible to pick one or two vague verses and use them kind of justify something. That's what people did to justify slavery for so many years. But some of the things below have always confused me as why they are actually practiced by Christians. Are any of the following directly and explicitly supported by the Bible (not interested in interpretations or far reaches) :
Christmas
Easter
Saints and Mary interceding for men
Purgatory
Going straight to heaven when you die
Keeping Sunday (first day of week) holy
Thanks
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoIf there was no such thing of sin, then why did Jesus have to be crucified?
This question is for liberal Christians
If what is in the Bible as right and wrong is relative, and we can just pick and choose what to stand behind based on how popular the position is or how much the world agrees with it, then doesn't that mean there really isn't a such thing as sin?
Why then did Jesus even need to die for us then. Couldn't he have come down and said something like 'Hey everyone, sorry for my dad during the old testament times. He had some anger issues but is doing better now.' Don't worry about all this Bible stuff. Just be nice people.' and then ascend back to heaven?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoQuestion for Christians in Arizona?
For those of you not serving gay customers, are you also not going to serve non-married couples? What about muslim, buddhist, and atheists people. Also, are you going to have your business open on Sunday?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWas the concept of marriage nailed to the cross like the sabbath?
There were two institutions created in Eden BEFORE sin - marriage and the sanctity of the sabbath. I've heard some Christians justify not keeping the 7th day sabbath because it was part of the mosaic law which was done away with with Christ. Wasn't everything associated with the mosaic law concerning dealing with sin, from the temple service to pointing to the ultimate Lamb - Christ?
And if the sabbath is done away with as part of the mosaic law, wouldn't that also mean the other pre-sin institution - marriage, was also done away with?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoQuestion for Jehovah's Witnesses?
You seem to be one of the few remaining groups who take the Bible seriously. Why hasn't your church embraced the 7th day sabbath yet to be a true commandment keeping people who follow the lamb?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy are there more JWs than any other on here?
Don't have an issue with anything but noticed that there seem to be more JWs as a single group that other Christians on R/M. Was this something you guys were given instruction to do along with your door to door work? Just curious.
