I think you're a little too young to be walking other people's dogs, especially the larger ones. What would happen if a dog you were walking got away? Or perhaps attacked someone or another dog? There are other ways to make money... I'd look into something different. Last thing you or your parents need is a law suit.

If you love animals so much, why not do some volunteer work at a local animal shelter in your area? They probably will not let you walk dogs since you're 14, unless you have an adult with you. However, they would probably appreciate help with cleaning, play time for the animals, and snuggle time.

There's a young girl in my neighborhood who's 11, and just ADORS dogs but he parents won't let her have one so I pay her $4 every Thursday to take my dog out. She usually has him for like 3-5 hours. She takes him to the park for a bit then walks around cause he's ran hard at the park he's easier to walk lol or so she tells me, she's very sweet. But I know the family and I even babysat the little girl when I was young. So if you have a family or family friends your close with maybe they'll pay you (probably not very much I may add) to take the dog out. But you can't start a dog walking service cause you're not insured and if something happened to one of those dogs it would be a nightmare.

You can charge $5/walk (20-30 minutes) and ONLY walk the dogs of family and friends - i.e., people who will not sue you if their dog escapes or bites someone or gets injured.

In order to offer dog-walking services to the general public you would need:

    *Business license

    *Pay local/state/federal business taxes

    *Insurance to cover liability

Animals are unpredictable. What happens if the dog you are walking slips their collar and runs in the street? What happens if a stray dog runs up and attacks the dog you are walking? What happens if you are walking a dog and they have an allergic reaction to a bee sting and die? Those are all quite possible scenarios. Unless you are ONLY walking dogs for friends/family, it is easy to get sued and for your life/your parent's life to be ruined.

Nothing as you shouldn't be walking dogs until you can get insured... and you certainly shouldn't be even thinking of walking big dogs.

You might love dogs but there is way more than that to taking a dog for a walk. You have to KNOW dogs and understand their body language.

'How hard can it be to walk a dog?'

Thats the easy bit. Its when someone else's dog attacks yours, you have to break up a dog fight and get the injured dog to the vet that the problems start.

If you get bitten you need medical insurance.

If the dog you are walking bites, you need liability insurance.

Go to YouTube and search 'unprovoked dog attacks'.

Its not hard to just Google and see what kinds of things can go wrong.
