EX-JW'S, why is it so important to keep exposing the WTBTS and the GB?

Update:

I am an EX-JW and have been for about ten years now for anyone interested! Yes Kit, I was in both the Cholchester and Middlebury congregations....both in beautiful Vermont!

Update 2:

I too am an EX-JW who seeks the real truth! I am an Apostate of the WTBTS but not from God!

Update 3:

Hi Kitlege,

Why would you remain? Is it because of family? I was raised Catholic so my family never got involved with the JW'S. I didn't know enough about scripture so I was pretty gullible and took the bait as a 20 year old. Now I know much more about scripture and Bible history than any JW ever would, but that was because I research everything now because of the lies I was taught by the WTBTS. I'm 55 now and so much wiser do to the effects this cult had on my life. Not because of what they taught me, but because of the lies they told me. I check everything now "to make sure of all things"! Too bad most JW'S don't!

Update 4:

Hi Lone,

I stand here a free man, directly and in plain view for all to see. A person who declares publicly that Jesus is my personal Savior. I fear no one, or no group. I am not ashamed to admit this for I can do anything in Christ who strengthens me. Even if it means standing up against the whole of the WTBTS empire.

Update 5:

Merry Christmas for all here who believe upon the name of our Lord Yeshua (Jesus) King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I have to presume that you are currently an active JW (a Vermonter, perhaps?) asking a legitimate question… one which has caused me to analyze by own motives. For the record, I remained an active JW from the early 60’s thru the mid ‘80’s giving me 23+ years of service to the WT organization, including years as pioneer and elder. I remain totally inactive, never DF’ed nor formally DA’ed .

The best answer I can give is that I remain astounded at the staunch position of the Society’s continued dogmatic claim to having sole possession of “truth” today in light of the many changes, adjustments, abandonment etc… to many teachings of its theology, all made under the guise of “new light”. As is characteristic with genuine Biblical truths, truthful teachings do not ever need to change as ‘truth is truth is truth’. Refinements are healthful but the basic, foundational “truth” is no way to be changed, altered or abandoned. If “truths” need to be changed or adjusted then, they weren’t truths to begin with. This is one major issue that is driving my comments on Y/A.

I would say that the other issue prompting my responses to many of the questions posed on this site is the overt mind-control the WT Society excerpts on individual publishers, via talks on assembly programs, literature etc…, including its stern warnings against visiting so-called “apostate” websites (regardless of their accuracy and scholarship), all of which represent a veritable psychological censorship. Critical or objective thinking, beyond information found in WT publications, is simply not allowed. This is not right, as it has the effect of placing ‘blinders” over the “eyes” of open-minded JW’s, limiting their views to those propounded by the WT.

The constant barrage of labeling so-called “apostates”, who may have come into disagreement with some of the WT teachings as being “mentally diseased”, is also appalling. I ask, how can an organization orchestrating so many flip-flops of important doctrines, date setting etc… in the last few decades be so quick to condemn some who may have sincerely disagreed with the very same doctrines later changed by the WT Society? Isn’t that smacking of Pharisaical thinking?

How can anyone with a sense of decency feel comfortable with the WT’s “2-witness” rule, as it affects defenseless children, becoming victims to sexual depravities while the WT continues to avoid notifications to the authorities where legally permissible? Shouldn’t the myriads of lawsuits, in the last few decades against the WT, many of which were settled on the ‘courthouse steps” with attached gag orders, bring some kind of pause as to WT policies regarding pedophilia? This issue bothers me greatly.

Hopefully, this has provided some insight to your thoughtful question. Thank you.

Skiingstowe- no, I do not "remain". The last meeting I attended was in 1985 while living in Maryland.... My mother and sister (both in VA) remain active but they give me a "free pass" and, though I curtail my comments about the WT, we associate freely with one another. My youngest sister, a full-time pioneer for 20+ years, left the WT about 6 years ago. I live in the Concord NH area so I recognized your username and was able, fairly confidently, to conclude you are a "vermonter". Thanks, brepolt@comcast.net

Exposing false doctrine, a false religion and a cult is what we are to do. In Paul's writings did he not expose false teachings? Of course he did. I have to admit I am not a Jehovah's Witness nor have I ever been one. Thank God! But I am what your Watchtower has instructed you, in the name calling category, an opposer. I'm not the "apostate" a name you guys falsely give those who used to be a member of your false organization (EX-JW's). You know those mentally ill one who have went out a found real truth and those who found the real Jesus. So why do the EX-JW's do it? Because it's important to them to help save lives and to give those that are lost the true Gospel of Jesus.

Edit - I have to apologize to you I didn't look at who was asking the question. I know that you are an EX-JW and I am so sorry for thinking that you where one. You have seen my questions, I try very hard to give them the truth and plant the seeds of truth. I hope and pray everyday that Jesus comes into their hearts and they see him for who he really is.

    Merry Christmas to all!!

"It is not religious persecution for an informed person to expose publicly a certain religion as being false, thus allowing persons to see the difference between false religion and true religion. But in order to make the exposure and show the wrong religions to be false, the true worshipper will have to use an authoritative means of judgement, a rule of measurement that cannot be proved faulty. To make a public exposure of false religion is certainly of more value than exposing a news report as being untrue; it is a public service instead of a religious persecution and it has to do with the eternal life and happiness of the public. Still it leaves the public free to choose." 15 November 1963 Watchtower, p 688.

As Jehovah's Witnesses will readily agree, exposing false religion is a public service! Amen, to that. That's why it's important for former Witnesses to expose the false teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses because eternal lives are at stake.

Like you, they brand me as an "apostate" yet I only became a Christian 17 years ago when I finally discovered who Jesus Christ REALLY was, and I turned to Him for forgiveness. Oh, the joy of belonging to Him! Yes, we have an obligation to alert people to false teachings and to point them to the true gospel.

It sure is. How do you think some JWs became ex-JWs if it wasn't for them reading something exposing the WTBS/GB false doctrines and deceptions ?

On the other hand other ex-JWs simply read the holy bible for themselves and discovered their was no such thing as a human organization (watchtower society ) being Gods mouthpiece on earth and more importantly understood that salvation was only through Jesus Christ (John 14:6, 1Cor 15:1-4, and Rom 10:9-10)

I would like to believe that all ex-JWs who have accepted Jesus as their saviour became saved because they followed these verses.

(Rom 10:17 ) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the WORD of GOD.

(Eph 1:13 ) In whom ye also trusted after ye HEARD the WORD of TRUTH, the gospel of your salvation.

Because lives are involved - and I mean that quite literally!

    1. Every person who becomes a JW is at greater risk of dying in a medical emergency requiring the use of a blood transfusion where no alternatives are available.

    2. Every person who becomes a JW is at greater risk of social insecurity for himself or young children later in life because of the discouraging of higher education and lucrative employment pursuits they deem as taking away from "seeking first the kingdom".

    3. Every family that becomes a family of JWs is at greater risk of heartache resulting from shunning should any members leave the religion. This heartache has moved some to commit suicide!

It is important that people get to know the whole truth about JWs - faults and all - before making a decision to become one. Their organization does not reveal the whole truth about their history and errors to potential recruits. The organization gives the public a sanitized, rose-colored glasses image of itself by withholding negative information about its past false teachings and blunders; and by using spin to distort and play down the true severity of its more controversial practices.

    Ok

Why don't you expose them as the loving organization they are.

Tell everyone how they preach the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom so that all may have an opportunity to gain life in the new system. They really deserve to be exposed as followers and imitators of Jesus.

Warn everyone in Christendom how they should get out of "Babylon the Great" now before it is too late and join Jehovah's Christian Witnesses.

Yes, expose them for their love of God and neighbor. Expose them for believing the entire Bible as the inspired Word of God.

Expose them for being the one true religion.

Expose them for their integrity and their perseverance in the face of opposition.

Jehovah will be pleased if you expose them for all these things.

If you expose them with no false accusations and actually praise them for their faithfulness, maybe then there will be less ex-Witnesses and more faithful Witnesses of God.
