I need a wireless adapter that works with windows 8.1?
This is for a desktop PC.
The problem is most adapters don't have win 8.1 drivers yet... Some of 8.0 compatible... but I can't find any that I know are 8.1 compatible.
I'd prefer something under $20... But I'd be willing to go up to $40 or so, especially if it's a name brand and/or highly recommended.
Thanks!
tumbleweed_biff: That is incorrect according to many reports... Just google wireless adapter not working windows 8.1. That upgrade has broken many wireless adapters.
I found one that reportedly works, but it was a PCI-e card. My mobo is old... so it only has regular old school PCI slots open... so it looks like a need a USB adapter... I only have USB 2.0... so a 3.0 adapter isn't important.
I am planning on buying this adapter.

My Wireless adapter worked fine under Windows 8, but completely failed under Windows 8.1. Apparently Microsoft made some serious changes which makes it difficult for software engineers to update their Wireless drivers.
