Why are liberals afraid of a national vote on Obamacare?

I mean if it's such a great thing it would be a shoe in, right?

It's because hardly anyone would vote for a tax on themselves

Why do morons always leap to calling others AFRAID? After all, we don't have a national referendum system. So there's no mechanism for this.

But we HAVE HAD TWO national elections where health care reform, for the second, specifically the ACA, WERE major issues.

We voted FOR Obama twice. Millions more voted for Dem Representatives in the House.

    The PEOPLE have spoken.

Between those elections, there were innumerable polls. Most Americans have approved of most of the provisions of the ACA.

So what you're on about is unclear. Oh, right, things like REALITY have no hold on wing-nuts.

The same reason the cons don't want a vote on mandatory universal background checks, a ban on high capacity magazines, a law about safe storage of guns.

But, I suspect you already knew the answer to your q. The law is in place ... changing it is difficult.

No one's going to vote on repealing a law that hasn't has a chance to come to fruition. The country has to let the elements unfold, time test it, then discuss.

However, if you have a viable solution to how health care became unaffordable, please share. Otherwise, you take the easy path professing how you know what won't work while you don't express what will. Does a position like yours get any more simple?

This reminds me of an event in my life.

Just before I went on vacation, I built horseshoe pits. At one end, I was compelled to build a temporary barricade so errant shoes wouldn't hit the house. When I returned, the barricade was down, nothing replaced it and the evidence where the shoes had hit the house was obvious.

I inquired about why my barricade was down. The perpetrator who took it down said, "Because it wasn't good enough."

Congress would never allow it. Once the voters found out they could over ride congress it would set a precedent that could end up cleaning congress out. Conservatives wouldn't support this chain of events.

Congress has the power to do that, but otherwise there's no provision for a national referendum. If everyone badgered their Congressman, and Senators it could happen.

Liberals know that more than 55% of Americans are against Obamacare ans want it repealed. That would mean that their messiah is faulty and lead the country down the wrong path.

Its already been voted on by the Congress that we voted in and approved by the Supreme Court, and then signed into law by the president that we voted in. You want a mulligan do over?

Had one in 2012. Try to not run a plutocrat in 2016 and maybe you can do something with it then.
